Affirmative Action: Bernie strongly supports Affirmative Action and believes it helps correct past injustices.
LBGTQ Rights: Bernie supports the LBGTQ community and will fight for equal rights for those that are a part of this community.
Women's Rights: Bernie also will fight for women's rights and supports stronger laws against domestic violence.
Economic Issues
Taxes: Bernie believes that the wealthiest Americans do not pay enough taxes and the middle class pays too much.
Deficit: Sanders is opposed to cutting back spending to decrease the deficit, instead he would like to implement a progressive tax plan, cut defense spending, and spark the economy by investing in infrastructure.
Job Creation: Bernie plans to reinvest in our decaying infrastructure, this will fix problems with the state of our roads and other infrastructure and create many jobs. He also believes that small business provides a lot of support for our economy and would support legislation that favors them.
Minimum wage: The cost of living has gone up while the minimum wage has remained the same. Under Bernie the wage would be increased so those who work these jobs will not have to live in poverty
Education
No Child Left Behind: Sanders does not support No Child Left Behind. He believes that the tests ignore many factors of the students lives and that they don't measure other important skills such as problem solving. He would like to drastically reform NCLB.
Pre-K: In his announcement seeking the democratic bid for president Bernie says, “we are going to move to a universal pre-K system for all the children of this country”.
College: Bernie realizes that the price of going to college is way to high and paying for it can become a burden for many years. He is in support of making college free so our young workforce will be pumping money into the economy instead of loans.
Environment
Climate Change: He believes that climate change is real and caused by humans. He wants to address climate change immediately to offset impacts of the change in the future.
Agriculture: Bernie thinks that agriculture is one of the United States most valuable industries. By voting for legislation that supports immigrants (large source of farm labor), family farming, and affordable nutrition, Bernie has helped bolster the agriculture industry.
Alternate fuel: According to Bernie, it is necessary to stop using fossil fuels and begin using alternatives such as wind,solar, and geothermal. This will deter climate change and also provide many with jobs.
Clean Water: Bernie supports efforts to create a system that prevents our water from being contaminated. He introduced in the Rebuild America Act 2015 a $26 billion plan to “improve stormwater and wastewater treatment, create dams and levees to prevent flooding, and create better drinking water systems”.
Health Care
Affordable Care Act: Bernie thinks this was a step in the right direction, but he would like to see it go further and address inadequate coverage.
Medicaid: Until universal coverage, Bernie wants to see medicaid expanded.
Medicare: Bernie wants to expand medicare so it would then cover all citizens
Drug Prices: Bernie is determined to making drugs more affordable so those who are sick can afford to get better.
Homeland Security
Military: Bernie recognizes that having a large military is important but he would only like to use it as a last resort, favoring diplomatic tactics. This would save money and lives.
Privacy v. Security: Bernie wants to respects everyone’s rights, in order to lessen the power of the government to look into our private lives he supported the Cyber security Act 2012.
Immigration: Bernie believes that America is a nation of immigrants and they are very important to our innovations and economy. He supports giving legal status to many undocumented in the states. He also recognizes that border security is necessary but a fence is not a good option.

Abortion: Bernie Sanders believes that a woman's body is her own and she should be able to choose what she does with it. This is why Bernie this women should have access to contraceptives and right to choose abortion.
Capital Punishment: Bernie does not support the death penalty. He says that life in prison is a harsh enough punishment for the most severe crimes.
Gun Control: In the middle on this topic, Bernie wants to see background checks to keep guns away from criminals and mentally unstable. But he would like to see other aspects of gun control dealt to the states.
